What is BaZi used for?
BaZi is a mirror for reflection, not a prediction. People use it to notice tendencies and questions for personal observation. Eastern Self does not use it for fortune-telling, and it does not forecast wealth, health, relationships, or work.
Do I need to know my exact birth time?
The Hour Pillar uses a birth time. If you do not know it, noon is a workable placeholder. The rest of the chart can still be read as a broad reflection prompt, and the hour should be treated as less specific.
Is BaZi the same as Chinese Zodiac?
No. The Chinese zodiac animal is only the Year Pillar. BaZi also includes the month, day, and hour, and the way those eight characters are described with the Five Elements.
